Precession basically means that the Zodiac signs are shifted 24 degrees fast forwards. So if you’re a Libra, according to what you read on the Internet, you’re most likely a Virgo.
Without getting into fancy language like Nirayana (with precession, the Vedic dates), and Sayana (traditional Western Astrology, without precession), your true zodiac sign is most likely a different sign unless you were born during around the middle of the month or the week after.
If there are 30 degrees in a sign which roughly corresponds to 30 days*, then that would mean only 6 out of 30 people would have the correct Zodiac sign, which if we do 24 / 30, that would mean 80% of regular people’s Zodiac signs are wrong,
So you have a 1 in 5 chance of having the correct Zodiac sign, which is interesting because if you are celebrity, that 20% chance of having the same Zodiac sign in both systems rises far above a 50% probability.
* Jargon below (not necessary to read):

30 + 31 + 32 + 31 + 31 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 29 + 30 + 30 + 30
the sum of which is 364.
30 would correspond to the month of Aries, which can think of as mid-April to mid-May, and etc.

If you use a telescope or any type of Astrology software, such as SkyView which is available for both Android and iPhone, you’ll notice that all the planets are in the wrong constellations if you use Western Astrology.
Why is that?
It’s because they are using the wrong system, but this goes much deeper than that from a psychological standpoint:
Western Astrology is predictive, meaning that it gives people the anticipation of what will happen in the future. If I do a daily horoscope for everyone on a big magazine using Western Astrology, it will happen several days in the future, typically 2.5 days (and will pass through 12 Zodiac signs in exactly 27.333 days, and 13 Zodiac equal house signs in exactly 28 days) because we’re using the Moon – but it will change your behavior in the present day.
And what’s funny is only the ones that are born on the same Zodiac sign (their Sun sign) will get the message, so only between 20% – 30% of the population will resonate with the message, and far more disproportionality if one is born mid-month.
However,
And this is what makes things complicated,
If you do a personalized horoscope for transits without houses using Western Astrology on any site, it’s completely accurate.
How is that possible?
It’s because your transit chart is based on the position of the planets when you were born relative to the position planets that are currently, so you’re always going to get the same trines, squares, sextiles, and oppositions because you can’t change the position of the stars and planets in the sky, or try to move them.
How does precession affect my birth chart during a reading?
It changes everything, everything is 24 degrees off, then all of your planets will not only be likely in the wrong Zodiac signs but in the wrong degrees.
Since I use Lords in my True Astrology™ system, then the Lords of each sign will be in different houses, and most importantly your Ascendant will be likely to be wrong.
If your houses are wrong you aren’t going to get the right reading for the individual, and the current transits in terms of predictive astrology (outside of trines, squares, sextiles, and opposites) will be wrong; the houses in the current transit will be inaccurate. You can use any type of system, Placidus, Equal House, Porphyry, it won’t work.
How do I blend Western with Vedic Astrology dates?
I will use the dates adjusted with precession for my birth chart readings to create an accurate reading, and for predictive astrology I will use the same method.
Also, I am using Western planets superimposed on the Vedic dates, so that includes Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, and other important transneptunian celestial bodies that serve as Lords for certain Zodiac signs.
